FirmoftheMonth1

The ILN is proud to announce our latest firm of the month, Hall & Wilcox – Australia!

Hall & Wilcox is a leading independent Australian law firm with 70 partners and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Newcastle.

For 100 years, Hall & Wilcox has been advising clients on a wide range of legal issues. They act nationally for Australian-based clients and multinational clients with Australian interests.

Smarter Law

At Hall & Wilcox, their purpose is to enable their clients, people and communities to thrive by practising smarter law. Smarter law is how they help their clients achieve their business objectives. It is how their people will prosper in times of change. Smarter law means that the firm is imaginative, agile, tech savvy, collaborative and remarkable. Smarter law demands service, solutions, systems and processes that are flexible, responsive, efficient and intelligent. Smarter law leads to greater value for clients.

International practice

Over many decades, their lawyers have been advising on cross-border transactions and disputes and developing a practical understanding of the business environment outside of Australia. By remaining an independent firm, when many Australia firms merged to become global, they have the flexibility to work with clients and other firms with fewer restrictions. They have several international desks led by partners and senior lawyers who are native speakers and understand first hand, the commercial and legal issues of doing business in that country. Their international desks include China Desk, Korean Desk, European Desk and German Desk.

Areas of expertise

As a full-service commercial law firm, their international clients benefit from their specialists in key practice areas, such as:

  • Banking finance
  • Capital markets
  • Corporate and commercial
  • Corporate governance
  • Employment and workplace relations
  • Financial services
  • Insolvency and reconstruction
  • Insurance
  • Intellectual Property
  • Investment Funds
  • Litigation and dispute resolution
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Property and projects
  • Superannuation
  • Tax
  • Technology

They understand that every cross-border transaction is distinctive and therefore create a team of the most appropriate lawyers for each matter in order to provide international clients with tailored advice. They support all aspects of transactions including drafting and negotiating all relevant documents, and conducting due diligence and project management.
